I realized this week I’ve been a bit obsessed with hot pink lately. And it all started with a llama magnet. My mother-in-law mentioned she had free magnets from Zazzle coming, and asked if I wanted to pick one out. I’m the type of person that ridiculously loves a million magnets and pictures and menus on the fridge, so I jumped at the idea. After about a half hour of breezing through their millions of options (no joke!), I stumbled across this hot pink llama and knew that was it. As I was looking through recent purchases and gifts, I realized there was a growing trend. “I think I love hot pink,” I whispered to myself, a bit surprised. But why not? It brings a bit of sunshine and whimsy… and now I’m all in.

Free People has always been one of my husband’s favorite brands. I love it in the summer, it’s easy breezy look and feel, but in the fall I’ve always gravitated toward a more structured look. Until now.
Plaid has been near and dear to my hear ever since my first plaid of plaid skinny pants I loved to death (or at least, until knee holes) in high school. The Free People August Lookbook is dripping with gorgeous plaids and mixed prints that make me pine for the turn to autumn.

Also, something about the Desperately Seeking Susan vibe of this model’s look makes me rather nostalgic and wanting to hit the video store… do they still have those?

Loving this weather! Bare legs twice this week. Hooray Seattle! We see so little of the sun, especially this early in the year. I’m taking advantage with all the dresses and skirts I can. This week’s obsession is shift dresses. I love the clean lines, bright colors and fun prints.

Did I mention I’m on jury duty right now? I guess not, since I’m not supposed to talk about the case.
It is driving me a bit crazy though – I don’t keep things bottled up very well! The days are a bit slow, but terribly interesting at the same time. Fortunately, each one is peppered with a number of small breaks… in a small back room. I’m so grateful that they have WiFi in the courthouse; I’ve been able to peruse the online world to my heart’s content. Some of my favorites from this week:

Bedroom Art.
A beer tasting party.
Gorgeous chunky cardigan.
Step 1 to great banh mi: pickled vegetables.
Glamorous headpieces.
Homemade service.
The best macarons in the world.
Beautiful furniture from reclaimed materials.
Print dress.
Polenta for breakfast? Or anytime? Yes please.
Black walls are so dreamy.
Watch.

(ps) The bouquet pictured above was for my Nana’s 86th birthday this weekend, from Pike Place Market  – the very best place in Seattle to get flowers!
