It was a long week at work and I’m battling the last of my third (or fourth?) cold of the season, so this weekend will be for a bit of resting, besides a dear friend’s birthday dinner tonight. While my husband celebrates the return of hockey today, I’ll be perusing Pinterest for the week’s dinner menu and catching up on the news of the week. I came across this gorgeous picture and I must admit I’m a bit obsessed with both the dress and the cat.

Here are a few more of my favorite finds from the around the internet universe:

Something to do with the puff pastry that’s been in my freezer too long.
Gorgeous jewelry and studio in Brooklyn.
Such a fantastic smile.
Love this idea for passing on wedding ideas and knowledge. The book is wonderful, by the way.
Military jackets, sequins and practical winter wear advice.
A lovely collections of vintage cocktail rings.
How to cook pasta in red wine. Can’t wait to try it!
I hear this is the best long-wearing liquid eyeliner out there.
Johnathan Adler does it again, this time in the bathroom!

Have a relaxing weekend. xoxo

Are you watching the Golden Globes tonight? This morning the whole of Seattle has their eyes glued to the Seahawks-Falcons game, but I’m really looking forward to seeing Tina Fey and Amy Poehler bring down the house tonight. I’ve never really been a huge fan of awards shows, but with these two ladies running the show, I’m imagining it’s going to be a roaring good time. Particularly with the hilarious drinking game these two have dreamed up…. see below!

golden globes 2013

  • Drink any time an actress cries in a speech.
  • Drink any time you see a person actively not listening to someone onstage.
  • Drink any time someone says, “I didn’t prepare anything!”
  • Eat a meatball sub any time someone thanks Harvey Weinstein.
  • Take off an article of clothing any time they show Judi Dench.
  • Take off an article of clothing any time Maggie Smith wins.

Quite fun, even if it ends up just being the husband and me tonight. Have a lovely Sunday!

happy new year

We spent the night our favorite way, dinner with my family at a Japanese steak house (so fun!) and ringing in the new year with a few of our favorite friends. Even though it was freezing out, we hiked all over the city on our own two feet. I’ll do pretty much anything to avoid getting in a car on this night!
It was champagne and flying shrimp and watching gorgeous fireworks at the space needle. A little dancing and a lot of fun… and back to reality tomorrow. Hope your new year was fabulous!
