We’re away on vacation for the week (woo hoo!), and I’m really looking forward to getting some reading done. We’ve rented a house out in the San Juans on Orcas Island, and although it’s a short drive & ferry ride from Seattle, it feels like a world away.

Usually I’m a one-book-at-a-time person, but lately I’ve started quite a few books without finishing them. My plan is to wake up early with a cup of coffee and get a bit of time in before the whole house starts to stir.

Here’s what I’ve been reading:

current books raudette

The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo
In the hopes of changing my “organized mess” ways.

An Unquiet Mind: A Memoir of Moods and Madness by Kay Redfield Jamison
A raw biography and glimpse into an atypical mind.

Search Inside Yourself: The Unexpected Path to Achieving Success, Happiness (and World Peace) by Chade-Meng Tan
Some zen for the workplace, and how to translate that into your everyday life.

The Queen of the Tearling: A Novel by Erika Johansen
Highly recommended fiction about a young rising queen. YA, but great for grown-ups too :)

I also have these queued up on my Audible app:
The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins
The Goldfinch: A Novel by Donna Tartt

What about you? Have you read anything fabulous lately? Any recommendations?

We went off today white water rafting over in Eastern Washington and had an absolutely fabulous time, but all the sun and physical exertion has me beat. I have the feeling tomorrow is going to be another lazy Sunday… which are usually my favorite kind of days.

Jury Duty ended. New job responsibilities started rolling in. Crazy deadlines and all sorts of late evenings at the office. Luckily, the week ended with a fabulous dinner party with the friends that took our wedding photos and two other couples whose weddings they also shot. So much fun! Great food, silly games and a few bottles of fabulous wine make for quite the night. Cheers to new friends!
That said, today is all about recuperating a decompressing after an intense week. And a little perusing online. Here are some of my recent finds and loves:

The Christian Dior Spring Collection. Gorgeous.
Tough but delicate ink.
Amaretto cake. If only I baked. *sigh*
Sexy, sensible belted pumps.
Art of longing.
This fun winter outfit.
It’s all in the details.
Simple soup.
What a sweet sheer dress!
Great book for new parents.
A breakfast blog of beautiful morning light pictures.

Have a lovely weekend!
